Natürmort / Still Life

Nusret Orçan’ın natürmortlarında çiçekler, meyveler, vazolar ve gündelik nesneler, ışık, renk ve tuşenin kurduğu ilişkiler içinde yeniden biçim kazanır. Keskin konturlardan çok yan yana gelen renk alanlarıyla belirginleşen formlar, kısa ve ritmik fırça darbeleriyle canlı bir resim yüzeyine dönüşür. Nesnelerin maddesel varlığı ile onları çevreleyen atmosfer arasındaki sınırlar yumuşarken, natürmortun geleneksel durağanlığı yerini ışığın ve rengin titreşimli birlikteliğine bırakır.

In his still lifes, Nusret Orçan brings together flowers, fruit, vases and everyday objects, allowing their forms to emerge through the interplay of light, colour and touche. Rather than being defined by sharp contours, forms take shape through adjacent fields of colour and short, rhythmic brushstrokes that animate the painted surface. As the boundaries between objects and their surrounding atmosphere begin to soften, the traditional stillness of the genre gives way to a vibrant interplay of light and colour.
